El elemento mítico en la poesía de Olga Nolla
Este artículo sintetiza algunas ideas de la tesis doctoral que lleva el mismo título: El elemento mítico en la poesía de Olga Nolla. En dicha investigación, se analiza la poesía de Olga Nolla mediante la identificación con mitos grecolatinos, judeocristianos y yorubas, y cómo se entrelazan con las más ardorosas pasiones humanas. Olga Nolla es una prolífica y controversial poeta puertorriqueña. Representa una de las pugnas más discutidas entre los maestros de español: si debe enseñarse -en la escuela- literatura que contenga temas eróticos.

This paper is a synthesis of the dissertation: The mythical element in Olga Nolla’s poetry. The thesis analyzes groups of myths in which the poems are based. By reading Nolla’s poetry, the reader can discover how myths, gods and their complex lives are related to ours. The present article describes the relationship between Greek, Judeo-Christian and Yoruba myths and Olga Nolla’s poetry. Olga Nolla is one of the most prolific and controversial Puerto Rican poets. Because of the nature and content of her literary work, Spanish teachers often debate whether Nolla’s writings should be part of the curriculum or not.
